- Born in 1949 in Mobile, Alabama
- Attended University of Montevallo & the University of South Alabama
- Worked in a photo-lab while in college
- Discovered "Edward Weston's Daybooks" in 1974 & became seriously involved in photography
- Has worked as a medical photographer from 1976 to present
- Helped establish the photography program at the University of South Alabama in 1977 & taught photography there through 1992
- Began using the view camera in 1977, in 4 x 5 and 5 x 7 formats
- Began working with the 8 x 10 camera in 1984, making only contact prints
- Began working with an 8 x 20 panoramic camera in 1986
- Studied with Michael A. Smith in Ottsville, PA, 1987
- Began the Alabama Landscape/Cityscape Series in 1989, using both 8 x 10 and 8 x 20 formats
- In 1995 began Passing Through: Glad I Ran Into You series, of 8x10 in studio 'portraits'
- Currently exploring combinations of traditional and digital photography in conjunction with alternative printing methods.
